Harvest - Celebrating 25 Years: Coming to Union Square This November

Today, Union Square Partnership (USP) proudly announces the signature fall celebration, Harvest - Celebrating 25 Years, will take place on November 14, 2023 at Civic Hall @ Union Square. This annual fundraiser celebrates local food, drink, and the Union Square district, with proceeds going to Union Square Partnership’s work throughout the neighborhood including beautification efforts in Union Square Park. VIP tickets for the highly-anticipated event are now available for purchase, with general admission tickets launching in November.

Commemorating its 25th anniversary this year, the event–co-founded by Danny Meyer of Union Square Hospitality Group and chaired by Chef Marco Moreira of 15EAST @ Tocqueville–brings together Union Square’s best culinary ventures alongside signature cocktails from local bars. Attendees are invited to partake in a curated menu featuring dishes from top tier local restaurants, including familiar favorites, exclusive new arrivals, and hidden gems from across the Union Square district. The 2023 Harvest celebration will take place at Civic Hall @ Union Square, a soon-to-open venue within the new Zero Irving building. A workforce training hub, Civic Hall is a newly built, cutting-edge, state-of-the-art institution and an essential educational collaborator within New York City’s tech ecosystem.

“From the very first Union Square Greenmarket in 1976 to acclaimed restaurants like Union Square Cafe who call our neighborhood home, food and beverage has always been at the heart of Union Square, anchoring the district’s commercial revitalization for decades. We are thrilled to bring back Harvest this fall for its 25th year–paying homage to the neighborhood's past and looking ahead to its future,” said Julie Stein, Executive Director of the Union Square Partnership. “Vital funds from the event will support the future of our district, by keeping Union Square clean, safe and enjoyable while investing in the beautification and maintenance of Union Square Park. We're extremely grateful to our restaurant partners and sponsors who made it possible to bring Harvest back and celebrate Union Square together.

Funds from this year’s celebration will be reinvested into public realm improvements across Union Square, including advancing USQNext, Union Square Partnership’s bold vision plan developed through robust community engagement. By implementing USQNext, USP seeks to transform the greater Union Square-14th Street area into New York City’s most accessible place through multi-modal accessibility, district greening, and substantial increases in public open space.

In addition to supporting USQNext, funds from Harvest will help Union Square Partnership deliver on its daily mission to ensure the district's continual growth and success–from greening and cleaning initiatives to community programs for all, enhanced street safety and park services.

“Harvest has always been a celebration of the city’s best-tasting neighborhood and its return is an important and uplifting moment for our community,” said Danny Meyer, Union Square Hospitality Group, whose Union Square Cafe has made Union Square a dining destination since 1985.

“I’m so honored to be invited to be part of this amazing event; the first since COVID bringing back Harvest, benefiting Union Square and the BID partnership,” said Chef Marco Moreira of 15EAST @ Tocqueville. “Union Square, which is close to my heart, is truly a pillar not only to the many surrounding neighborhoods, but to all New Yorkers.”

“At Civic Hall, we are excited to join the dynamic and ever-innovative Union Square community,” said Seema Shah, Executive Director of Civic Hall. “Hosting the 25th anniversary Harvest event is an honor for us as we open our new facility at Zero Irving. It aligns with our goals to expand the innovation ecosystem by using our new Union Square space as a hub, bringing together students, entrepreneurs, community organizations, employers, and educational providers. We aim to make this the first of many successful events for the Union Square community and beyond.”

The 2023 Harvest - Celebrating 25 Years’ sponsors include: Civic Hall @ Union Square, Con Edison, Urbanspace, Union Square Hospitality Group, Bromley Companies, Citi, and The Feil Organization.
