Union Square’s Fall 2024 Entertainment Guide

Vineyard Theater | 108 East 15th Street

Vineyard Theater’s production of Age Is A Feeling  runs from September 11 to October 13.

Age is a Feeling is a heart-wrenching production “inspired by hospices, mystics, and trips to the cemetery”. Touching on our relationship with mortality, this story is written and performed by Haley McGee, with original direction and dramaturgy by the late Adam Brace. The production won the Fringe First Award at its premiere during Edinburgh Fringe 2022 before transferring to the Soho Theater in London for two sold-out runs.

Classic Stage Company | 136 East 13th Street

The Rediscovery Readings launch on September 23rd at the Classic Stage Company.

Throughout four play readings, this production will shine a light on the American women behind classics of the early 20th century whose legacies have been muted by time. Transporting you through the 1900s to the 1950s, these playreadings lead up to CSC’s much-anticipated production of Wine in the Wilderness by Alice Childress, where we’ll hear from the women of the 1960s!

Daryl Roth Theatre | 101 East 15th Stree

Titanique is playing at the Daryl Roth Theatre following great success winning four awards and becoming an off-broadway hit! The award-winning musical retelling of the Titanic from Celine Dion’s perspective is fun, entertaining, and an unmissable experience. Peoples' Symphony Concerts | 16 West 36th Street

There's still time to get a series ticket for Union Square and The City's oldest and most treasured concert series - Peoples Symphony Concerts! According to the NY Times, the Peoples Symphony Concerts offer "Carnegie Hall-quality artists for less than the cost of a Manhattan movie ticket”. Celebrating its 125th season, the Washington Irving Campus presents one of the world's great chamber music ensembles, the Takacs String Quartet. From October 19th and running for 12 Saturdays until May, this production is just one of many beloved shows returning to the stage.

14th Street Y | 344 East 14th Street

The 14th Street Y has two exciting productions coming up! The first is Stephanie Trudeau’s: Becoming Chavela this September. Following the life of Mexican singer Chavela Vargas, this production sees her iconic life, rise to fame, creative and artistic legacy, and friendships with notable figures such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Spanish film director, Pedro Almodovar.

Catch this comeback story at the 14th Street Y from September 20th-22nd.

The second show, Pass Over, a play by Antoinette Nwandu, is a riff on Waiting for Godot, “[crafting] everyday profanities into poetic and humorous riffs, exposing the unquestionable human spirit of young men stuck in a cycle just looking for a way out”.

Peridance Dance Center’s production of Peridance Presents brings together and celebrates five choreographers at different stages of their careers. This evening features choreography by Cebo, Giovanni Castellon, Rebecca & Mats van Rossum & Vive Khamsingsavth.
