Community Board 5: Budget, Education & City Services Meeting

  • SGI-USA NY Culture Center 7 East 15th Street New York, NY, 10003 United States (map)

The Budget, Education & City Services Committee reviews local items relevant to the citywide budget. Oversees issues pertaining to schools and all other city services within the district. Annually drafts and adopts a District Statement of Needs.

The Community Board staff, headed by the District Manager, assists the Board with its work and helps to resolve citizens' complaints regarding the delivery of municipal services.

Boards have an important advisory role in dealing with land use and zoning matters, the City budget, municipal service delivery and many other issues relating to the welfare of the community.  The Board works closely with city agencies, city, state, and federal elected officials, business organizations and civic and community groups.

The Community Board is a way for you to be involved in your local community government.  We encourage your participation and urge you to attend our meetings.
